WE CHOOSE WELCOME

A NOTE FROM OUR PASTOR

Welcome to First Presbyterian Church of Winneconne! We hope that you will join us on Sundays at 9:00 am. We are a community that seeks to be welcoming to all people; our leaders are regular women and men who feel a desire to put God first in their lives. We respect all people as Gods people no matter their skin color, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital status, politics, or economic status. We believe that we are First people of God. Second, in need of love and acceptance. And Third called to be a safe place of belief and doubt.

As the pastor of this community, I can tell you that we are not perfect people. But we are people who enjoy being together, and laughing, and not taking ourselves too seriously. We talk openly about our fears and concerns. We try very hard to be faithful to the call we feel on our lives. But we know that we need each other and find hope in our community.

If you know that you aren’t perfect, but want to be challenged to live a faithful life, come join us some Sunday. We pray that the God of Peace and Welcome Guides you!

The PCUSA

Through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, we trust in the one triune God, the Holy One of Israel, whom alone we worship and serve.

Presbyterians affirm that God comes to us with grace and love in the person of Jesus Christ, who lived, died, and rose for us so that we might have eternal and abundant life in him. As Christ’s disciples, called to ministry in his name, we seek to continue his mission of teaching the truth, feeding the hungry, healing the broken, and welcoming strangers. God sends the Holy Spirit to dwell within us, giving us the energy, intelligence, imagination, and love to be Christ’s faithful disciples in the world.

More than two million people call the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) their spiritual home. Worshiping in 10,000 Presbyterian congregations throughout the United States, they engage the communities in which they live and serve with God’s love.
